Jessica Werfel is originally from Chantilly, VA, and currently lives in Falls Church. She earned her degree from Elon University, where she studied Dance Performance and Choreography alongside Arts Administration. Her teaching experience is diverse, having taught at the Russell School of Ballet, Dance Place, Peacehaven Community Farm in North Carolina, and at dance festivals across the United States.

As a performer, Jessica has danced at venues both nationally and internationally, with highlights including performances at the Teatro Della Compagnia in Florence, Italy, and the Indeterminacy Festival on Governor’s Island. She has performed with Gin Dance Company and Kista Tucker Insights Modern Dance Company, and in works by choreographers such as Janice Rosario, Christian Denice, Jen Guy Metcalf, Eli Motley, and Casey Avaunt.

This year, Jessica will be teaching at both locations. In her classes, dancers can expect to explore improvisation and discover their unique artistry. Her advice for the year: “Always show up as your most creative and authentic self, with an open mind to learn and progress every day!”
