IN-STUDIO GUIDELINES
for Del Ray & Mclean Families

Move With Me & Dancing Tots 

Move with Me & Dancing Tots Family & Friends Observation
We’re excited to invite parents and families to observe your dancer's progress! During the last 15-20 minutes of class, you’ll have a chance to see everything they’ve been working on so far.

Dancer Attire:

  • Pink tights

  • Pink leotard

  • Pink ballet shoes

  • Hair in a bun or ponytail (if possible)

Little Dancer, PreK and Kinder 

LITTLE DANCER, PREK, & KINDER Family & Friends!
Dancers will perform a short combination that they have been working on in class to the score of The Nutcracker or another festive song - we can't wait for you to see it!

These performances will be held during your dancer's regularly scheduled class time.
Dancer Attire:
Ballet-Based Classes

(Little Dancer, PreK Ballet; Ballet/Tap; Ballet/Jazz, Kinder Ballet; Ballet/Tap; Ballet/Jazz)

  • Pink tights

  • Leotard: Pink (Little Dancer & PreK) or Purple (Kinder)

  • Costumes will be provided, please do not bring your own tutu

Kinder Musical Theatre/Tap & Tap/Jazz

  • Pink tights

  • Purple leotard

  • Shoes: Tap (Musical Theatre/Tap) or Jazz (Tap/Jazz)

  • Hair in a bun

Male Dancers

  • White t-shirt

  • black dance pants

  • Black shoes (ballet/jazz/tap)

YOUTH LEVEL 1 - LEVEL 4/5 Family & Friends!

Dancers will perform a short combination that they have been working on in class to the score of The Nutcracker or another festive song - we can't wait for you to see it!

Dancer Attire:
Ballet Classes

  • Pink tights

  • Pink ballet shoes

  • Assigned class leotard (no skirt attached)

  • Hair in a bun

  • A ballet skirt will be provided for the performance​

​

All Other Styles (Including Tap Academy)

  • Black jazz pants or leggings

  • Plain red (or DAV Holiday) t-shirt

  • Hair in a slicked-back ponytail

  • Bring all required shoes for each class

​

Male Dancers

  • Ballet - White t-shirt, black pants, black ballet shoes

  • Other styles - Red t-shirt, black pants, appropriate shoes

Youth Level 1-Level 4/5

Level 6 - Teen

Level 6 - Teen dancers will have a special class observation instead of a performance. Families will be invited in for the last 15 minutes of class.

Dancer Attire:

  • Ballet - Pink tights, pink ballet shoes, assigned leotard (black skirt optional), hair in a bun

  • Other styles - Black jazz pants or leggings, assigned leotard, hair in a slicked-back ponytail, correct shoes

  • Male dancers (all styles) - White t-shirt, black dance pants, correct shoes

Please Note:

  • Pre-pointe, Pointe, and Ensemble classes will have regular class only (no showcase)

  • Dancers will enter first; guests will be invited in when it's time to begin

  • Each performance or observation will last about 10-15 minutes with limited seating

  • Photos and videos are welcome (no flash, and please only record your own dancer).

  • A photo area will be available before and after class

  • Please return borrowed costumes before leaving

  • Some dancers may feel shy with family watching, help them feel comrotable ahead of time!

  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes early so classes can stay on schedule

  • Space is limited, and our staff will work efficiently to ensure a smooth experience
