Meet Ms. Tiffany!

Academy Instructor

Tiffany Chatfield brings a high level of experience to her teaching. Raised in Alexandria, she began her training locally before attending The Harid Conservatory on a full-tuition scholarship, completing her high school education alongside a rigorous classical ballet program. Her training emphasized Vaganova-based technique, which was complemented by studies in flamenco, jazz, modern, and contemporary dance, as well as courses in anatomy nutrition, music theory, and music history.

In her professional career, Tiffany performed with Ballet Arizona under the direction of Ib Andersen, former principal dancer with New York City Ballet. During her tenure, she danced a wide range of classical and neoclassical repertoire by choreographers including George Balanchine, August Bournonville, Frederick Ashton, Paul Taylor, Justin Peck, and Ib Andersen. Her principal roles include the “Lullaby” variation and “Walking Pas de Deux” in Balanchine’s Emeralds, the “Second Aria Pas de Deux” in Balanchine’s Stravinsky Violin Concerto, “Dark Angel” in Balanchine’s Serenade, and the “Tease Girl” in Balanchine’s Slaughter on Tenth Avenue, as well as “Tall Girl” in Paul Taylor’s Piazzola Caldera, “Mythra” in Anderson’s Giselle, and of course, the “Sugar Plum Fairy” in Anderson’s The Nutcracker.

As a teacher, Tiffany is committed to preparing dancers for success. She emphasizes strong, classical foundations, musicality, and discipline, while providing thoughtful individual coaching to guide students towards positive long-term development as artists.
