Little Dancer & Academy Programs Instructor

Sydney Heldman is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, and now calls Fairfax, Virginia home. She earned her degree in Dance from George Mason University, where she also performed in several notable works, including Cincinnati Ballet’s The Nutcracker as Clara, and pieces such as Double Octet by Doug Varone, Cloudline by Robyn Mineko Williams, and Through the Fracture of Light by Yin Yue for the GMU Dance Gala. Sydney has taught ballet, contemporary, and pre-ballet classes at Beyond the Barre in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Tiny Dancers in Virginia. This year, she will be teaching at the McLean location, leading both Little Dancer and Academy programs. In her classes, students can expect plenty of creative movement and an encouraging environment where curiosity is celebrated. Her advice for the year ahead? Don’t be afraid to ask questions!
