Meet Ms. Sarah!

Academy Instructor

Sarah Nerette is originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and currently resides in McLean, Virginia. She earned her degree from the University of Virginia, where she studied Civil Engineering with minors in Engineering Business and Sustainability. Alongside her academic career, Sarah has cultivated a deep passion for dance as both a performer and educator.

Sarah brings nearly ten years of teaching experience to the studio. Most recently, she taught for three years at Wilson School of Dance in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she instructed students of various ages in Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, and Lyrical, while also choreographing for studio performances and community events. Prior to that, she taught Dance for Fitness, Zumba, and Haitian Folklore for the City of Charlottesville. During her time at the University of Virginia, she also taught and choreographed Latin dance styles—including Salsa, Bachata, and Cha Cha—serving as both an instructor and choreographer for the university’s dance community.

Sarah began her dance training at the Institut de Danse Lynn Williams Rouzier in Haiti, where she performed in several classical ballets including Don Quixote, La Fille Mal Gardée, Paquita, and multiple productions of The Nutcracker, among others. She also performed original choreography in several Salsa Club showcases at the University of Virginia.

This year, Sarah will be teaching in McLean as part of the Academy Program. In her classes, dancers can expect to focus on strengthening their technique while developing their artistry. She reminds her students that dance should always be enjoyable, and that true mastery takes time, dedication, and patience.
