Meet Ms. Megan!
Registrar & Studio Administrator
Megan Gray Lederman is originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, and currently lives in Washington, D.C. She holds an MFA in Dramaturgy from Indiana University, as well as bachelor's degrees in English and Theatre from George Mason University. With a passion for storytelling, performance, and education, Megan brings a unique perspective to the arts through both theatre and dance.
Her teaching experience spans kindergarten through the college level. Megan previously taught acting and improv with Acting for Young People in the DMV and led a Peer Leadership seminar at George Mason University. For the past three years, she has taught in the Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance at Indiana University, specializing in Dance Dramaturgy, Script Analysis, New Play Development, and Theatre History. In addition to her role at Dance Academy of Virginia, Megan serves as an adjunct instructor at several universities throughout the DMV.
While most of her performance background is in theatre, Megan trained in dance throughout her childhood at BellA Dance in Virginia Beach. She especially enjoys contemporary, tap, and musical theatre and, these days, is just as happy cheering on performers from the audience.
This year, Megan will be part of the administrative team, supporting both the McLean and Del Ray locations. Her advice for the year ahead is: Try something new! You never know what you'll discover if you haven't tried it!
