Megan Amen is originally from Phoenix, Arizona, and now lives in Falls Church, Virginia. She earned a BFA in Dance and a double major in Political Science from Rutgers University, where she also had the opportunity to study abroad in dance at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. She later completed an MA in International Relations at Arizona State University.

This is Megan's second year at Dance Academy of Virginia. In addition to teaching at DAV, she has taught at the Master Ballet Academy Summer Intensive in Scottsdale, Arizona, and has served as a guest instructor at Greenway High School in Glendale, Arizona.

As a performer, Megan danced with Dance Plus and performed her senior solo at Rutgers University, appeared in Dance Legends while studying at Trinity Laban, and has performed in multiple productions of The Nutcracker with Master Ballet Academy.

This year, Megan will be teaching in the Youth Program at the McLean location. In her classes, dancers can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where they are encouraged to challenge themselves, build confidence, and have fun while learning. Her advice for the year ahead is: "Come in with a positive attitude and be ready to learn. Don't be afraid to try new steps.”
