Meet Ms. Maggie!
Little Dancer Instructor
Maggie Crowe is originally from Monmouth County, New Jersey, and is currently based in Arlington, Virginia. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and American Studies from the University of Richmond, where she was a four-year member of the university’s pre-professional dance company, University Dancers. During her time there, she originated roles in works by Ephrat Asherie, Larry Keigwin, and Stephanie Martinez, among others, and served as Company Captain in her senior year. Maggie began dancing at just eighteen months old at Middletown Dance Academy in Middletown, NJ, and later trained at the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble under Nancy Turano. Her performance credits include repertory works by Kate Skarpetowska, Jean Emile, and Paul Taylor, as well as appearances at venues such as Peridance Capezio Center, Dixon Place Theatre, and Carnegie Hall.
With a rich background in both performance and education, Maggie has taught students ages 3 to 16 in various dance styles throughout New Jersey. This year, she will be teaching in McLean as part of the Little Dancer Program. In her classes, dancers can expect to explore their natural movement styles and embrace the process of discovery. As Maggie reminds her students, “Genius is 1% talent and 99% hard work.” With dedication and enthusiasm, she believes that every dancer can find success and joy in the journey of learning.
