Kelsey was introduced to dance in fourth grade through Richmond Ballet’s Minds in Motion, a public school program. After graduating with a BFA in Dance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, she went on to dance professionally with Dark Circles Contemporary Dance in Dallas and then freelanced in Geneva, Switzerland. In the DMV, she danced with Jane Franklin Dance for 8 years later becoming Assistant Artistic Director. She currently dances with Robert Priore’s Compañía Medusa and Angel Ram Dance. Her dance career has given her the privilege to travel to Buenos Aires, Kazakstan, Iceland, Cuba, Germany, France, and Switzerland where she has learned that dance truly connects us all. 

Kelsey found her joy for teaching about six years ago with Go Bananas Dancing and Jane Franklin Dance’s Summer Camps and she is so excited to join the Dance Academy of Virginia! In her class, students should expect to use their imaginations. She wants her classes to remind students that dance is fun and freeing and every once in a while, especially after we’ve been working hard, it’s ok to get a little silly.
