Gwen Wojtkun is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and currently lives in Washington, D.C. She studied Strategic Communication and Nonprofit Management at Ohio State University. Gwen’s teaching experience includes coaching her high school dance team, teaching at local studios, and serving as the captain of the Ohio State Club Dance Team. This year marks her second year teaching at DAV.

Gwen's dance journey began as a competitive dancer in Cleveland, where she trained in a wide range of styles. She honed her skills through summer intensives with renowned companies such as Joffrey Ballet, New York City Ballet, and Cleveland Ballet. In high school, she was a four-year varsity member of the nationally competitive Magnificat High School dance team. At Ohio State, she led the Club Dance Team to top-10 national finishes at NDA College Nationals in the D1A Jazz and Hip Hop categories—the highest-ranking club team in the nation. Throughout her dance career, Gwen has remained passionate about teaching and sharing her love for the arts with dancers of all ages and abilities.

This year, Gwen will be teaching at the McLean location. In her classes, dancers can expect to explore a wide variety of styles and skills to support their growth across all areas of dance. Her advice for the year: “When a class feels extra challenging or you feel like you're not getting the steps, don't give up on yourself! If you keep working hard, you will see your perseverance pay off.”
