Ms. Gwen's journey in dance education began during her high school years at her local studio in Cleveland, Ohio. Building on her early experiences, she also coached the Magnificat High School dance team during the summers while home from college. By her senior year, Gwen had assumed the role of captain of the Ohio State Club Dance Team, where she played a pivotal role in teaching and refining routines throughout the season.

Growing up as a competitive dancer, Gwen cultivated her skills across a wide range of styles. To further enhance her training, she spent her summers with prestigious companies such as Joffrey Ballet, New York City Ballet, and Cleveland Ballet. During high school, she was a dedicated four-year varsity member of the Magnificat High School dance team. Through this experience, she competed at nationally recognized events such as Contest of Champions, West Coast Dance Explosion, and Velocity.

Transitioning to her college years, Gwen’s leadership as captain of the Ohio State Club Dance Team was evident. Under her guidance, the team competed at NDA College Nationals in the highly competitive D1A Jazz and Hip Hop categories. Remarkably, the team secured 7th place in Jazz and 10th place in Hip Hop, achieving the distinction of being the highest-ranking club team in the nation.

After completing her degree in Communications and Nonprofit Management from Ohio State University, Gwen brought her passion for arts and education to Washington, D.C. She now works in the Department of Nonprofit Management at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Alongside her professional career, Gwen remains deeply committed to teaching dance, combining her experience and love for the art form to inspire the next generation.
