Meet Ms. Elan!

All Programs Substitute Instructor

Elan Robinson is originally from Jacksonville, North Carolina, and is now based in Virginia. She earned both a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida. Her teaching journey began at Lux Dance Project, where she instructed classes in Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. In 2022, she joined IndepenDance Studio as a Hip Hop teacher for beginner through advanced levels. Elan has also contributed to community programs such as Dance Going Higher Summer Camp (2024), where she taught ballet and created choreography, and most recently served on the faculty for the Young Dancers Workshop of North Central Florida.


As a performer, Elan has appeared in works by renowned artists including Lionel Popkin, Deviated Theatre, Jesús Benzal and Javier De La Asunción, and Xan Burley. She continues to expand her creative voice as one of the 2025–2026 Dance Place New Releases Commissioned Artists, collaborating with Sydney Goldston.


This year, Elan will be teaching at both locations as a substitute across all programs. Her classes are energetic and inclusive, designed to help students enjoy movement and self-expression. Elan encourages her dancers to stay curious and open-minded, reminding them, “Always be open to learning new things!”
