Performance group for the students in the Youth Program ages 7-12. Students audition to join the ensemble and attend a weekly rehearsal in addition to their weekly classes. Students learn choreography by the DAV faculty in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop dance styles, with the goals to improve performance skills, teamwork, memory, versatility, and motivation to keep learning. Choreographies will be filmed and shared, and performances may include local festivals and DAV events. During COVID, only outdoor venues will be considered where students may safely social distance as well as family zoom showings & filmed dances to share. Students must take at least 1 weekly technique class and are expected to maintain good attendance.

 

10 spots per age group available. If places remain, a second audition will be scheduled in January.

Ensemble rehearsals scheduled for Winter/Spring session starting January 4-June 13.

 

Weekly rehearsals

For ages 10-12: Wednesday 7:45-8:45pm

For ages 7-9: Fridays 6:15-7:15pm

 

Tuition:

Youth Ensemble $500 for winter/spring session (plus 5% multiple class discount)

Prior to the audition date, a follow up email will be sent with information to prepare. Based on number of students, time slots of 20 mins will be scheduled for the audition.
